Questions

Tenants and guarantors ask

Do I pay anything?

No. The landlord or letting agent pays. In England tenants can’t be charged for referencing.

How long does it take?

About 10 minutes on your phone. It saves as you go, so you can stop and come back to the same link.

Will the credit check affect my credit score?

No. It is a search for a tenancy, not an application for credit, and other lenders can’t see it.

I’m a student or not working. Can I still rent?

Yes. Without an income you’ll usually need a guarantor (someone who agrees to pay the rent if you can’t), and a clear credit history. You can name your guarantor on the form.

Who sees my information?

Only us and the landlord or agent you applied to, for this tenancy. Your documents are deleted 6 months after you apply.
